I cant even count the number of people that have asked my why their $400 computer didn't come with Microsoft Office. Well Microsoft Office is more expensive then Microsoft Windows believe it or not. The majority of us out there don't actually need Microsoft's Office. We just need a place to create a fancy resume, keep track of some finances in a spreed sheet or create a presentation about a trip we took. Well OpenOffice will do all of this and more! Its been downloaded over 100 million times and is owned by Oracle. Probably not a name most home users have herd but they make database software that runs some of the largest databases in the world. OpenOffice comes with 5 applications Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, and Base. Check out their website for more details.
